yikes. maybe we should put the link that goes to the special in there ...;-)

(Sorry about that. We forgot to put the links in that go to the special. See if this works better...)

our first ever Super Moon sale...;-)

We were so hoping for clear skies tonight. Because, as a lot of you already know, it's the last Super Moon of the year. (The moon is a big deal around here...:-))

Which is why it was more than a little disappointing to wake up to a cloudy, rainy day. Kai said, It's a little hard to get fired up when we're not going to be able to see it...

But then, we looked at each other & remembered that We. Are. Artists. We can always find a reason to celebrate. Especially things that you can't even see...;-)

So, in celebration of a night when the moon shines perfectly bright high above the clouds: we are offering a Super Moon Special. Through Monday. Yay!

(OK, to be fair, it's also because we've been getting teasers about Stay-Tuned-For-Holiday sales from all over the place. Which we think is ridiculous. Since we are still in September & are just now making ornaments for you all...)

So, here you go. Our Super Moon deal: buy a 2024 wall calendar & get a card pack for a ridiculous amount off. We think of it as stocking up on gifts without having to wait for months until the actual holiday sales show up...

Drop in when you get a chance...

Until next, with love, kai & fa

P.S. Just so you know, we're on the hunt for more reasons to celebrate. Because that's just how things work around here...:-)

the quiet of a morning walk...

Speaking of that We Are Artists thing...

A while back, we put a set of Japanese gouache watercolors on the table that's right inside the back door. Where we can see them as we go in & out. Turns out that every morning after Fia comes in from her walk on Sandy Neck Beach, she makes coffee & sits down & paints her impressions of the day on wood blocks...

Which is why we call them the morning walk watercolors...

Delicate watercolor washes that feel like a landscape seen through morning fog. On both the original wood blocks & a few art prints on a special German etching paper with deckled edges on all four sides. (You can see a little bit of how they look over there on the left, with the new story 'choose yourself'.)

If you haven't seen them yet, it's worth dropping by. If only for a moment of quiet before your day begins. Much like a morning walk of your own...

with love again, kai & fia

what wants to come into your life now... a few of the ones you'll find...:-) Last week, after the first release of originals, someone asked me this: How can you let your work go so cheaply? she said. Doesn't it lessen the value of what you do?That question spun me around a bit. Because I thought it was obvious why I was doing it... But then I stopped: maybe it's obvious to me, but quite possibly Not At All Obvious To Anyone Who Is Not Me. HA. So, here's what I'd say about that: We all do it....

the unexpected gifts...:-) We run into this every year: little things we want to gift, unexpectedly... This year there's the now & then UPS backup driver, neighbors who already told us to keep an eye out for a holiday party invite & the giant St. Bernard next door who regularly exchanges barks with Yoshi... There are so many reasons to send along a card or a little something extra to people this time of year - to say thank you, we're thinking of you, or hang in there... the tricky thing is...
